The Problem
Game night shouldn't end in arguments.
📱
Everyone's on a separate screen in the same room

You want to actually spend the evening together, and 'let's play a game' is met with groans before you've named one.

😤
Finding games everyone enjoys is exhausting

The 5-year-old can't play what the teenager wants. One parent hates Monopoly. Somebody ends up watching rather than playing.

🎲
Board games are expensive and mostly collect dust

You buy one, play it twice, and it joins the shelf of boxes nobody opens. That's real money and real cupboard space.

📖
Learning the rules takes longer than playing

Ten pages of rulebook, an argument about interpretation, and everyone's lost interest before the first turn.

Questions
Everything you need to know.
How does the personalization work?
You enter everyone's ages, how long you've got, and what's failed before — 'Monopoly, and it ended in tears' is genuinely useful input. What comes back is matched to that, including an honest note where a box's stated minimum age is either optimistic or overly cautious.
We have a wide age range (4 to 14). Will this work?
That's the case it's built around. The rule it works to is that if a game only functions when the youngest sits out or plays on a parent's team all evening, it doesn't get recommended. The tournament handicaps are designed so a young child can genuinely win — children spot being let win immediately, and it ruins the point.
What does the game picker do?
You put two to four games from your own shelf in with their minimum age, real play time, how fiddly they are and how much your family likes them, then set the youngest player's age and the minutes you've got. It ranks them for tonight, weighting the age gap heaviest — a game the youngest can't really play is the quickest way to end the evening early.
Do we need to buy new board games?
No. Five of the recommendations use only things most homes already have, and the game creator designs an original one from paper, pens and a deck of cards. If you do want to buy something, you get a reasoned recommendation rather than an impulse purchase.
We tried game night before and it didn't stick. What's different?
Mostly the boring parts: a fixed night in the calendar, a different person choosing each week, and stopping while everyone still wants one more round. The checklist also says to retire any game that's caused an argument twice — protecting the evening matters more than salvaging a game.
Is this a subscription?
No — a one-time purchase of $7. Rerun it whenever the shelf goes stale or the children get old enough for something new.
