Questions
Everything you need to know.
How often should I clean my brushes?
Common guidance from dermatologists and makeup artists: brushes and sponges used with liquid or cream products, and eye brushes, about weekly; powder, blush and bronzer brushes every one to two weeks; sponges after each use or at least weekly. These aren't strict rules — the plan adjusts to how often you actually wear makeup.
Will clean brushes stop my breakouts?
They remove one possible cause, but not every cause. Hormones, skincare, makeup ingredients and genetics all play a part. If breakouts sit where you use a particular tool, washing that one more often may help. For persistent, painful or worsening acne, see a doctor or dermatologist.
How do I wash them without ruining them?
Use lukewarm water and a gentle cleanser. Keep the bristles pointing down so water doesn't run into the handle, swirl gently in your palm, rinse until the water runs clear, squeeze out and reshape. Then dry flat or bristles-down until fully dry — overnight works well. Avoid soaking and high heat.
Does it send me reminders?
The product itself doesn't send notifications. You get a personal schedule, and you choose a reminder frequency in the reminder section — weekly for liquid and eye tools is a good default, with a monthly check of sponges and product dates.
When should I replace things?
Replace brushes that shed a lot, splay, smell after washing or have loose handles. Sponges are commonly replaced every few months, sooner if torn or smelly. Mascara is commonly replaced about every three months. Check the open-jar symbol on other products, and replace eye products and tools used during an eye infection, or ask a pharmacist.
