Is this veterinary advice?
No — it's general guidance, and your vet is the authority on health, vaccination timing and diet. What it does is tell you what to ask and when, plus a symptom checker that sorts urgency into emergency, call today, or monitor. It's written to err toward ringing the vet, because puppies deteriorate far faster than adult dogs.
When should I start socializing? I've been told to wait.
This is the single most consequential timing question and the plan takes it seriously. The window in which puppies most readily accept new experiences closes early and does not wait for the vaccination course to finish — a puppy kept in isolation until then often ends up fearful, which is much harder to fix than the risk being avoided. You get low-risk ways to socialize in the meantime, and an instruction to ask your vet what's safe locally.
What training methods does it use?
Reward-based only. No prong or shock collars, no alpha rolls, no holding the puppy down — and it won't tell you to punish growling, because a growl is the warning that comes before anything worse. Biting and mouthing are treated as normal puppy behaviour to redirect rather than as aggression to suppress.
How does the personalization work?
Breed, age, your living space, hours the puppy is alone, other pets or children, and your biggest worry. The hours-alone answer matters most — a puppy alone eight hours a day needs a completely different plan, and house training stalls for months when that's glossed over.
Will it tell me how much to feed?
As a range, with the food packaging and your vet as the real authority for your puppy. It won't recommend supplements either — over-supplementing a growing large-breed puppy causes genuine harm, and a complete puppy food already contains what's needed.
My puppy is already 6 months old. Too late?
No, though the emphasis shifts. Enter their real age and the plan adjusts — the peak socialization window may have passed, so it leans more on training, confidence-building and filling the gaps rather than pretending you're starting at eight weeks.
