Is it cruel to leave a puppy while I work?
Not if it's prepared for. Puppies sleep most of the day, and what matters is building up to it gradually, a comfortable space, a midday break while they're young, and proper time with you either side.
How long can they actually be left?
Less than you'd like at first – a young puppy can't hold on for a full working day, so a midday visit isn't optional at that age. The plan works out the limit for yours and builds the day around it.
I only have two days before I go back.
